Medieval 2 total war is a real time tactic/turn based strategy game with live battles, it is set in the period 1080AD and 1530AD. There are 21 factions in total 4 of which are unplayable, however with the right modifications which are available you can play with these factions.
There are 3 major religeons in this game; Christianity, Orthodox and Islam. Crusades can be called upon rebel and Islamic settlements while Jihads can be called against the Infidels. There are 3 Islamic factions and 14 Christian/Orthodox factions.
